21 – THE OHIO MAN WITH THE GOLDEN VOICE
The Story of Ted Williams lived a homeless life on the streets of Ohio for years – that is, until 2012 – when he ( and his golden voice ) were discovered. His talent earned him a spot on Dr.Phil; A job at a radio station and a hefty 395,000 $ advance for his memoir- “ A Golden Voice: How Faith, Hard Work and Humility Brought Me from the Streets to Salvation“ .
20- AN AMERICAN FOOD DRIVE FOR HOMELESS RAISES 1.3 MILLION POUNDS OF FOOD
The time when Philadelphia’s own WMMR Radio station camped out in the Xfinity parking lot in November of 2016 with one mission – feeding the city’s hungry. This beautiful event ( dubbed “Philabundance” ) raised a record amount of 1.3 MILLION pounds of canned food in just 5 days.
19 – WHEN AMERICAN CITIZENS DELIVERED FOR FLINT
The water quality situation in Flint, Michigan has effected so many people’s lives that the amount of help being sent there is still not nearly enough to fix the problem. However, that isn’t stopping American’s from loading up cases upon cases of bottled water in their vehicles to deliver to their fellow Americans.
18- AMERICAN BASEBALL PARADE AMONG BIGGEST HUMAN GATHERINGS IN HISTORY
The Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series, and with a win 107 years in the making you better believe the party was big. Over 5 MILLION attended – making it the 6th largest gathering of humans in recorded history. All for the love of baseball – what’s more American than that?
17- URBAN GARDENS ARE SPRINGING UP EVERYWHERE

12- AMERICA IS MORE ARMED THAN EVER
For many, an important part of the American dream is the active practice of our right to bear arms.
Today, more of the United States is armed than ever before; with an estimated 7.7 million gun owners calling the U.S.A home and owning enough guns ( about 265 million ) to supply every adult in the country. Now THAT’S security.
11- AMERICA INSTALLING RECORD AMOUNTS OF SOLAR POWER
Dreaming takes a lot of energy. Wouldn’t it be nice if more of that energy could be attained with minimal use of fossil fuel? Well, the U.S.A is well on the way to accomplishing that dream.
In 2016, America installed 88% more ( a little over 4,000 ) megawatts of solar power compared to last year. California alone generated over 1 gigawatt of power via solar panels in one only quarter.
10- DAKOTA PIPELINE PROTEST GETS RE-ROUTED
After months of protests under very harsh conditions – The Army Corps of Engineers announced that they would find an alternate route for the much disputed Dakota Access Pipeline. Protestors had been spending day and night at the site and this was taken as a massive victory for Americans.
9- AMERICANS ARE CELEBRATING AMERICA
In 2015 over 285 MILLION pounds of fireworks were sold for the Fourth Of July Celebration in the United States of America. That is a LOT of patriotism! Clearly reflective of the country’s belief in the American Dream.
8- 64 % OF AMERICANS OWN AN AMERICAN FLAG
That is a large amount of people. Despite barrages of images of flag burnings and upside down flags, the United States is a country that loves it’s flag. Most notably in the Midwest, where flags are flown on the front porches of houses regularly in a display of respect to the country and the service of those who served in the armed forces.
7- WHEN AMERICANS BROUGHT THE TWINKIE BACK
Hostess shocked the country in 2013 by going bankrupt – meaning the beloved “Twinkie” was going away. Except, America loved the Twinkie. Months later, after much uproar from citizens – The Twinkie returned. The company that purchased Hostess decided since so many people in the USA loved them – they would keep them.
6- THE FACT THAT AMERICANS ARE MORE CONNECTED THAN EVER
In 2015, Pew Research Center reported that upwards of 92% of American’s own a cell phone. That is a MASSIVE amount of Americans who are not only connected to each other, but also to the world. With such connectivity; chasing the American Dream has never been easier.
5- THE FACT THAT AMERICANS ARE LIVING LONGER
The average age of an American ( in 2016 ) is 38 years old. Compared to the average age of Americans in 1955 ( 30 years old ) – it is clear to see that American’s are on average living longer, happier lives.
4- TRUMP WINNING THE 2016 PRESIDENTIAL RACE
When Donald Trump won the 2016 Presidential Race; everyone in America was reminded that when you have a dream and you go for it ( like Donald Trump’s dream of becoming President ) sometimes – you actually win. Even if no one believed in you. That is an American Dream!
3- AMERICAN PETS GET TO DREAM, TOO
In the United States each year; of the 7.6 million animals entering shelters ( 3.9 million dogs, 3.4 million cats ) about 36% are adopted. On top of that, 26% of dogs who come in as strays are returned to their owner. Who says pets are excluded from the American Dream?
2- BECAUSE AMERICA IS GROWING
In 2016; the estimated population of the United States is 324 Million people – compare that to 2010’s census report of 309 Million people and it’s clear to see that America is growing fast. The American Dream is appealing to even more people every day.
1- AMERICA HAS THE WORLDS LARGEST ECONOMY
The United States has and is maintaining the largest ( $ 18 TRILLION ) economy in the world.
Talk about dreaming big! China is expected to overtake the USA in this regards in the next few decades – unless America can do something about it.
However if there is one thing that has proven true, It is that in America – if you can dream it, you can do it!
